Wolfe Teeth
Wolfe teeth are the numbers 105 and 205 in the illustration of the dental arcades. Wolfe teeth are normally removed before training begins. Many times it's very convenient to remove them at the time of castration if they are present. Most equine dentists and veterinarians remove them at the first floating if they are present.
The reasons for removing them are as follows:
1. They cause severe pain when the bit hits them
2. They can become fractured or become loose if not removed before training
3. They can cause extreme attitude, training, and performance deficiencies
4. For the safety of the rider as well as the horse
